Pangani District Council is a local government authority in Tanzania, located in the Tanga Region of the country. The council is responsible for providing public services and managing local affairs in the Pangani District, which covers an area of approximately 2,300 square kilometers and has a population of over 50,000 people. The council is headed by a chairman, who is elected by the councilors. The councilors are elected by the people of the district to represent them in the council. The council is responsible for a range of services including education, health, water supply, waste management, and local infrastructure development. Pangani is a historic town on the coast of Tanzania, and the district council is responsible for managing the town’s heritage sites, such as the Pangani Old Town, which is a designated National Historic Site. The council is also responsible for promoting tourism in the area, which is home to a number of popular attractions, including the Pangani River, Saadani National Park, and the beaches of the Tanzanian coast.
