The Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) is a Government institution in various countries, whose main goal is to improve access to clean and safe water, as well as sanitation services in rural areas. This institution works closely with local governments and other stakeholders to ensure that rural citizens have access to quality water and sanitation services. Among the important responsibilities of RUWASA is to manage the construction and repair of water infrastructure, to provide training to the residents of  the villages on the best use of water and sanitation, and to ensure that water and sanitation services are available on time and at low cost. RUWASA also participates in the implementation of national water and sanitation policies and is responsible for monitoring its implementation to ensure that the goals are met. In carrying out its duties, RUWASA builds community capacity so that they can contribute to water and sanitation projects, thereby ensuring that these projects become sustainable and benefit rural residents in the long term. Through RUWASA, the government continues to strengthen access to clean and safe water, which is important for the health and well-being of rural residents, as well as contributing to economic and social development in those areas. This institution continues to take steps to improve and move forward the goals of sustainable development regarding water and sanitation in rural areas.
