IOM Tanzania, New Vacancies Opportunities – May 2023
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a leading intergovernmental organization that provides services and advice concerning migration to governments and migrants alike. While I can provide general information about the IOM and its activities, please note that specific details regarding its operations in Tanzania may have changed since my last knowledge update in September 2021. The IOM has been active in Tanzania for many years, working closely with the Tanzanian government, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to address various migration-related challenges. The organization’s primary objectives in Tanzania include promoting safe and orderly migration, supporting the government in managing migration processes, and providing assistance to migrants in need. Migration Governance: The IOM collaborates with the Tanzanian government to strengthen migration policies, legislation, and institutional frameworks. It assists in enhancing migration governance capacities, promoting evidence-based policymaking, and supporting the integration of migration into national development plans. Migration Health: The IOM implements programs to address the health needs of migrants in Tanzania. It supports the government in enhancing healthcare services for migrants, including access to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care, as well as other essential health services. Migration Data and Research: The IOM contributes to enhancing migration data collection, analysis, and research in Tanzania. This includes supporting the government in developing comprehensive migration profiles, conducting surveys, and generating evidence to inform policymaking and program development.
